My Enlightened Delights

To enjoy good health,
to bring true happiness to one’s family,
to bring peace to all,
one must first discipline and control one’s own mind.
If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment,
and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.

Natural Products Expo West 2017

I first attended the Natural Products Expo West in 2014. One of my healthy cooking coach co-workers and I got up early, endured rush hour traffic, parked at Angels Stadium, and took the shuttle to the Anaheim Convention Center to participate in Early Morning Yoga before the thousands of vendors opened up for the day.

We were immediately surprised by the magnitude of this prestigious event. I honestly do not think you could see everything in one day if you tried; but you don't have to, the event takes place over the entire weekend, including educational seminars and meet-up activities. The Expo takes place on all 4 floors of the Anaheim Convention Center, plus 2 ballrooms each at the adjacent Hilton & Marriott Hotels. We spent hours wandering through aisles on aisles of healthy food and beauty products sampling as many products as our stomachs could handle and collecting as many samples as we could possibly carry. Needless to say, our bellies were quickly stuffed and our arms were full of freebie reusable bags filled to the top with take home samples.

The next year we learned to become more selective about the booths we visited, the samples we tried on site and the samples we chose to take home. We opted for the organic products overall and made it a point to visit booths of brands that we knew and loved while still searching for new products to share with our cooking students, friends and family.

This was my 4th year attending the Natural Products Expo West at the Anaheim Convention Center and it was easily the best! My friend & personal trainer Kat joined me and we had a great day geeking out over all the amazing goodies the Expo had to offer. We made a point to seek out certain brands that we already loved and learned about some new and upcoming brands with amazing potential.

My favorite part about this Expo is the vast variety of unique products on display and the connections that you're able to make. Whether the company is up and coming or well established, many of their CEO's & Marketing Directors are at this event making connections with retailers to ensure their products succeed. They are always happy to answer any questions you have and tell you all about their products: what makes them special, what their inspiration was for creating it, and even educate you on the dangers of using/consuming products with harmful ingredients.

Each and every year I discover a new favorite product at this Expo that I still use and recommend to my cooking students, healthy cooking coach co-workers, friends & family to this day. I still have so many things still to try from this weekend, but I look forward to sharing more details on some of the products I was able to experience this weekend at the Expo!
