Week 7: Reinforce Mindful Eating

Days 47–48: Slow wayyyyy down.

Your taste buds actually get duller and duller after every bite of food, says Kristeller, so savor each bite. Find it tough not to shovel in your food, especially when you’re hungry? Put your fork down between bites. “It sounds excessive, but it’ll force you to really chew each bite and take a mini-breather before you take another,” she says.


Wow! We learn something new everyday! I love this mindful eating tactic because it really makes you think about what you're eating. Although we anticipate our first bites of food so much, I never knew that our taste buds get duller after every bite of food. Cherish those first few bites and really take your time to chew & taste your food by setting down your fork between each bite.
